The Land of Legends is Turkey's largest theme park resort, built on the Mediterranean coast at Belek, in the Serik district of Antalya. It combines a fairy-tale themed amusement park, one of Europe's biggest outdoor aquaparks, a landmark hotel, a shopping avenue and a nightly show programme inside a single gated complex. For travel agencies selling family holidays to Turkey — and for companies planning family days or incentive add-ons around an Antalya conference — it is the single most requested attraction on the Turkish Riviera.
Location and how to get there
The resort sits in Belek, Antalya Province, on the Kadriye side of the Belek hotel strip. It is inland from the beach but within a few minutes' drive of dozens of five-star resorts, which is why so many Belek and Kadriye hotels sell it as a day excursion.
- Antalya Airport (AYT): approximately 35–40 km, around 35–45 minutes by private transfer.
- Belek and Kadriye hotels: 5–15 minutes by car or shuttle.
- Antalya city centre / Konyaaltı: around 45–55 minutes.
- Side and Manavgat: around 30–40 minutes east.
- Alanya: around 1 hour 30 minutes, workable as a long day trip with a private vehicle.
For groups we normally recommend a private minibus or coach rather than hotel shuttles: departure times are fixed on shuttles, and families with small children almost always want to leave before or after the crowd.
The theme park
The theme park is themed around legends and fairy tales, with a castle centrepiece, landscaped boulevards and a mix of ride intensities rather than one single audience. Expect:
- Thrill rides — roller coasters, drop and spin rides aimed at teenagers and adults.
- Family rides — carousels, gentle coasters, boat and dark-ride style attractions suitable for younger children.
- Toddler zones — smaller, low-speed rides for under-sixes, which matters when you are selling a holiday to a family with mixed ages.
- Indoor attractions — useful in the peak heat of July and August and in cooler shoulder months.
Ride availability rotates by season and for maintenance, so we always confirm the operating list with the park before a group departs rather than promising a specific coaster.
The aquapark
The water section is the reason many guests choose Land of Legends over other Antalya attractions. It is a full-scale outdoor aquapark with a large slide tower complex, a wave pool, a lazy river and shaded sunbed areas, all inside the same complex as the theme park.
Practical points worth telling clients before they book: the aquapark is seasonal and does not run year-round, height restrictions apply on the bigger slides, and towels and lockers are usually a paid extra. Families with children under about 1.20 m should plan around the children's water play areas rather than the main tower.
The Kingdom Hotel
The on-site hotel is a themed five-star property with family-focused room types — connecting rooms, suites sleeping four or more, and higher categories with pool or park views. Staying on site changes the trip in two useful ways: guests can walk into the park rather than transfer, and they can go back to the room in the middle of the day, which is what makes a July visit with small children realistic.
Board basis varies by season and package, so confirm exactly what is included — meals, drinks, park entry, aquapark entry and show access are not always bundled together. This is the single most common source of client complaints, and it is entirely avoidable at quotation stage.
Shows, parade and the shopping avenue
Beyond the rides, the complex runs a themed entertainment programme: an evening parade with illuminated floats and costumed performers, stage shows, and seasonal light and fireworks finales. There is also a large shopping avenue with international brands, restaurants and cafés, plus a dolphin and marine show venue.
For agencies, the evening programme is the argument for a late finish rather than a 17:00 pick-up. The parade is the part guests photograph and remember, and it materially improves reviews of the excursion.
Tickets and what to check
- Theme park only vs combined: aquapark access is often a separate or upgraded ticket. Confirm which one your client is buying.
- Child pricing and free-age limits: these are set by height and age bands and change by season.
- Show and dolphin venue: may be ticketed separately from park entry.
- Fast-track options: worth pricing for August visits when queues are longest.
- Operating calendar: park and aquapark hours differ, and the water section closes for the cool season.
Prices and inclusions change season to season, so we quote against the live contracted rate rather than publishing figures that go stale.
Best time to visit
- May, June and September: the sweet spot — warm water, manageable heat, shorter queues.
- July and August: hottest and busiest. Book on-site accommodation or a very early start, and plan an afternoon break.
- April and October: good for the theme park, shows and shopping avenue; water attractions may be limited.
- Winter: a themed park and shopping day out rather than a water holiday — still popular with GCC and domestic visitors.
Who it suits best
- Family holiday clients who want one destination that keeps children from 4 to 16 occupied for several days.
- Agencies packaging Antalya — an easy, high-value add-on to any Belek, Kadriye or Side beach resort programme.
- Corporate family days and incentives attached to an Antalya conference, where a private park segment or group ticket block works well.
- GCC and Middle Eastern groups, for whom Belek is already a core summer destination.
Honest advice before you book
- It is inland, not beachfront. Clients who want sea and sand every day should stay at a Belek beach resort and visit the park for a day or two.
- One day is not enough to cover both the theme park and the aquapark properly. Two days, or an on-site stay, is the honest recommendation.
- August heat is real. Mid-afternoon is the hardest part of the day with young children — build in a break.
- Always verify seasonal opening of the aquapark and the specific shows before confirming, especially for April, October and winter departures.
