The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the season finale and, for most guests, the easiest big F1 weekend to travel to. The circuit sits ten minutes from the airport, the hotels are on the island, December weather is close to perfect, and the twilight race — daylight into floodlights — is the most photogenic on the calendar. Add the Yasalam after-race concerts and it is as much a four-day event as a motor race.

Abu Dhabi GP 2026: dates and weekend schedule
- Event: Formula 1 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2026 — final round of the season
- Dates: Friday 4 – Sunday 6 December 2026
- Venue: Yas Marina Circuit, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi — about 10 minutes from Zayed International Airport (AUH)
- Friday: two practice sessions, plus support series (Formula 2 and Formula 4 UAE in recent years)
- Saturday: final practice and qualifying, followed by an after-race concert at Etihad Park
- Sunday: support races, then the Grand Prix at twilight, podium, and the headline concert
Exact session times and the concert line-up are confirmed by the promoter closer to the event and can change; we restate the current timetable in writing with every quotation. If you can only attend one day, take Sunday — but Saturday qualifying under the lights is the connoisseur's session.
Yas Marina grandstands: what you actually see
- Main Grandstand — start-finish straight, pit lane, podium and the biggest screens. Covered, and the safest choice if you only buy one seat in your life.
- North Grandstand — overlooks the hard braking into Turn 5 and the slow complex that follows; the best value for genuine overtaking.
- West Grandstand — the long back straight with cars at maximum speed and DRS trains; wide views across several corners.
- South and Marina Grandstands — the harbour section past the yachts and under the illuminated hotel. The best photographs of the weekend come from here at sunset.
- Abu Dhabi Hill — relaxed general-admission-style terracing with a giant screen; family-friendly and the most sociable way to watch.
For groups we always prioritise seats together in one covered block over marginally better scattered singles. Twelve guests split across three stands is not a group day out.
Tickets or hospitality?
- Three-day grandstand tickets — the core product, and the best value per day. Normally include access to the after-race concerts.
- Sunday-only tickets — for guests flying in and out around the race; the least efficient way to buy.
- Formula 1 Paddock Club™ — the premium tier: elevated trackside suites above the pits, gourmet dining, open bar, pit-lane walks and driver appearances depending on the package.
- Yacht hospitality in the marina — a private or shared yacht berthed in the harbour section, with catering and a view of the cars threading past. Distinctive, and popular for corporate hosting.
- Corporate packages — suites and private tables for 8–30 guests with a dedicated host, tailored menus and branded collateral if required.
A word on where you buy. Tickets should come from the circuit's official store, the official Formula 1 ticket store or an authorised agent. Unofficial resale listings are behind nearly every barcode problem we are asked to rescue at the gate. Everything we supply is sourced through official or authorised channels and issued before you travel.
Where to stay: Yas Island, Saadiyat or the Corniche
- Yas Island — walk to the circuit. The W Abu Dhabi sits over the track; Hilton Abu Dhabi Yas Island, Radisson Blu, Crowne Plaza, Yas Island Rotana and Yas Hotel-adjacent properties are minutes away, with Ferrari World, Warner Bros. World and Yas Waterworld on the doorstep. Race-weekend minimum stays apply and rooms sell out first.
- Saadiyat Island — beach resorts and the Louvre Abu Dhabi, roughly 25 minutes from the circuit. Our default for couples and families who want the race and a holiday.
- Corniche / city centre — Emirates Palace, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers and the St. Regis; city dining and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque nearby, 30-40 minutes to Yas.
- Dubai — 75-90 minutes by private car. Viable if you want Dubai as the base and the race as a day trip, though Sunday night traffic is heavy.
Grand Prix hotel rates and minimum-night rules are published early and the best inventory disappears months ahead. For groups of ten or more we recommend committing six to nine months out.
Getting to Yas Marina Circuit on race day
- Private chauffeured car or minibus — 10 minutes from AUH, 30-40 from the city, 75-90 from Dubai. Pre-agreed drop-off inside the road closures, and a driver who waits after the concert.
- On-island shuttles — hotels on Yas run shuttles or you simply walk; the island is designed around the event.
- Self-drive — possible, but parking is remote and the post-concert exit is slow.
Arrive earlier than feels necessary. Gates, bag checks and the walk between the stands, the fan zone and Etihad Park take longer than the map suggests — and the support races are worth seeing.
