Guests of The Connaught expect discretion, timing and calm from the moment they land — and the transfer from Heathrow is where that begins. A chauffeur waiting inside arrivals with a nameboard, a car that fits every case, and a quiet 45-minute glide along the M4 into Mayfair is a very different arrival from a metered cab queue. This guide covers the route, realistic journey times, the right vehicle for your party, and what our all-inclusive rates include.
The route: Heathrow to Carlos Place, Mayfair
The Connaught is roughly 16 miles (26 km) from Heathrow, almost entirely along the M4 and A4 corridor before the chauffeur threads through Knightsbridge and Hyde Park Corner into Mayfair. The approach matters: Carlos Place is a quiet one-way street, and our chauffeurs know the hotel's door, the doorman team and the correct way to arrive without blocking the entrance.
- Off-peak: 45–60 minutes door to door.
- Weekday peaks (07:00–10:00, 16:00–19:00): 75–100 minutes, occasionally more if the M4 or Hammersmith flyover is congested.
- Late evening arrivals: often under 40 minutes — the quietest and quickest window of the day.
Meet-and-greet inside the terminal
Every Heathrow to Connaught transfer includes our full meet-and-greet service as standard:
- Flight tracking from wheels-up, with automatic repositioning for early or delayed arrivals.
- A named chauffeur inside the arrivals hall of your exact terminal (2, 3, 4 or 5) with a discreet nameboard.
- 60 minutes' free waiting after landing for international flights — a slow immigration queue never costs you the car.
- Luggage assistance from the belt to the vehicle, including oversized items arranged in advance.
- Chauffeur name and mobile number shared with you 24 hours before arrival.
For guests who want the airport to disappear entirely, we can add fast-track immigration where eligible or arrange a Windsor Suite private terminal arrival with a host from the aircraft door to the car.
Choosing the right vehicle

- Mercedes S-Class: 1–3 guests, 2–3 cases. The classic Connaught arrival — quiet cabin, privacy glass, rear legroom.
- Mercedes V-Class: 4–6 guests, up to 6 cases. The right call for families and longer Mayfair stays with serious luggage.
- Range Rover: 3–4 guests, discreet profile — popular with regular Mayfair guests and Middle East families.
- Mercedes E-Class: an efficient executive option for a solo guest with two cases.
Connaught guests often travel with more luggage than a typical weekend traveller — shopping trunks, event wardrobes, golf bags. Tell us the real count and we size the vehicle from the luggage, not just the headcount.

Beyond the transfer: your time in Mayfair
Most Connaught guests use us well beyond the airport run. Day hire for Bond Street and Mount Street shopping, an evening car for dinner at Hélène Darroze or a reservation across town, a day trip to Windsor or the Cotswolds between meetings — all bookable with the same chauffeur, on one itinerary, with one invoice.
How to book
Send us your flight number, date, passenger and luggage count and any requests — child seats, a specific vehicle, a stop en route. You receive a written all-inclusive quote, usually the same working day, and chauffeur details before arrival. The return journey to Heathrow can be confirmed at the same time.
